Training, Life, Love, and the crap that gets in the way

I have been really challenged over the past eight weeks, as the injury I got through using the Vibram Five finger minimalist footwear has not got any better.

I am just the same as any other person out there, wanting to get on with life.  You make some goals set intentions and work towards seeing it all happen, then out of nowhere this big sideswipe catches you, and you wonder what the f##k happened.

As I work towards a solution I am reminded of a poem that as far as I know is an anonymous writer, but if somebody feels to the need to have credit it please accept my acknowledgments.  Its all about Quitting  or more so the admonishment not to quit,  the red text is excerpts  from  it.

It starts out

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.

Who has not been in that position, it does not matter if it is work, family, sport, or goal orientated there is the times when shit happens and the resolve to carry on, is at a low ebb

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;

If your dreams are not yet a measure of your reality, the fuel to continue, is the intention of why you started in the first place, more often then not not  intention based on vanity, greed, and taking more than you give, will not be enough

Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,

There are many stories amongst the literature of success manuals and self help thinking, of individuals that stopped just short of the vein of gold, and the rarefied air of success.

I thought  Dr Anthony Fernando had a great post at his blog To believe in your dream and has a book available

How do you gauge your elements of success? what is

the intention that fuels

your dreams, hopes and ambitions ?

Always love hearing from you all, leave me a comment  CyA

"We cannot find happiness. we can only choose to be happy." A very powerful statement and one that leads us to many a twisted turn, as we make choices that we believe will make us happy.

Russell, yes, you are right. Life is all about choices, and implemetation is full of complexities. Sometimes we choose a path that we think is right for us but then there are obstacles in the way, and we need to redirect ourselves and choose another path. We need to be very careful that we do not choose to retrace our steps to where we were before. We just need to press on. and overcome the unexpected trials along our journey. If we are true to ourselves, honest with those around us, transparent in our purpose, and continue to believe that we will find what we are seeking........our love for others and all around us will help us choose to be happy. no matter what crosses our pathway of life. We cannot blame or find fault, we choose to overcome, or to be overcome by that which the universe has brought accross our way. If we choose to love, we will find happinesswherever our path may lead. If we are thankful for what we have, we won't be discouraged. If our choices lead us to loneliness, may we believe that although friends are few, we will find friends in people that we have yet to meet.
We cannot find happiness. we can only choose to be happy..

How do I measure my success? By the feelings of accomplishment, a job well done, knowing I'd tried my best, contentment and acceptance of the outcome knowing that the most important part of the journey is learning. If i've learned something, that in itself is success.
What is the intention that fuels my dreams? To work towards making life meaningful for myself and others, to give, help, share, and ultimately to love and live life and share in doing these things with the one I love.
Am I successful? Am I realising my dreams? No. Reality is harshly different and the first verse of your quoted verse resonates deeply. Instead of learning from experiences, I seem to make the same mistakes over and over again. When I think things are getting there, "out of nowhere the sidesweep catches you"
Yes, I want to smile, but I have to sigh.

It all about choices, if your choices make you happy, stay with what you have, if they do not, you must make different choices. In statement an easy thing to say, implementation can be fraught with many complexities, but it always comes back to your choices.
