Well I just want you to Know I am not only involved in competition sport  

  I Have other interests, no not shopping or stamp collecting. Not that there is any thing wrong with that as a famous comedian would say but lowering your self over a damn big cliff face seems a better way to spend your time to me than trying to find a parking spot in some shopping center, I did this via a company that operates out of Brisbane ( i actually won it as a prize in a competition darn can’t get away from that word)

The place is the kangaroo point cliff face in Brisbane as you can see it over looks the river and is a great spot for climbers, picnickers and sightseers

We will always strive for perfection

     That is the nature of an athlete to be better than you were faster, stronger.

       How finely spun are we as intricate biological machines , the outer shell fragile as glass as we side step the taunts of those who see not, the the internal splendor of achievement 

 Challenging them selves only to look in and see the imperfections and flaws.

 I wonder how many times the creator of this beautiful glass creation pulled it in and out of the heat, blew, and molded it,how many times did he have to have another go, to get it to the perfection that it is.

 So greet that early morning training session with the knowledge that you are perfection in the making.

When you see the player bathed in sweat and the interveiwer has a mic stuck up his nose asking what was it like out there ?

 Ahh mate we gave it 110% couldnt go any more

    this equation should be taught in all math classes

From a strictly mathematical viewpoint it goes like this:

What Makes 100%? What does it mean to give MORE than 100%? Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%?

We have all been to those meetings where someone wants you to give over 100%. How about achieving 103%? What makes up 100% ! in life?

Here’s a little mathematical formula that might help you answer these questions:

If:

Then:

So, one can conclude with mathematical certainty that WhileHard work and Knowledge will get you close, and Attitude will get you there, it’s the Bullshit and Ass kissing that will put you over the top.

Again not a sporting event or something i have personally done but when you view pics like this.

My brother took  this on a tour with his family, you have to stop and thing about the world you live in ,the attitudes you have, and what your existence is all about.

Wonder of the real things of this world, a worry of minor things that occur in our lives every time a magnificent sunset or stunning sunrise greets your eyes hold the awe that comes to your throat and thank what ever god you believe in, for your opportunity to be alive.Be at peace in a world that is travailed by a madness that seems to have no end, stand in the moment of gratitude, breath in the the essence of  now.

 When you pull on your running shoes , mount your bike, hit the surf or pool ,remain in gratitude for the simple delights of life and all the possibilities it holds,grab hold ,wring what you can from the precious concept we call mortality.

Go for gold, take the time to to smell the roses, love a good wine, appreciate a sweet love. Hold as precious each morning, determine to be grateful for every breath of possibility that is fleetingly available to us.

So, we’re now 2 months out from the first Teva event. Are you ready for the challenges that lie ahead? For those of you who are focused on finishing at the front of the pack, or for those of you who are just doing it for fun, and need  a few tips to help you along, here are ten training tips which will help you to pull all aspects of your training together.

  • Plan your season and your training. Work out how much time you have for each week leading into events and play with training intensities and training times. By overloading your body it will gradually become stronger and fitter.
  • Long rides and runs are going to increase your fitness. Aim to complete one long ride and one run once a week. 
  • Practice running off the bike after you’ve been for a ride. It will help condition your body to allow blood flow and neuron activation.
  • If your not strength training, start now. You will gain massive increases in performance with no added gain in weight if the training is done well. Try adding push ups and squats into your training during the week. 
  • Strength train once a week. Use other training sessions for cardio and skills training.
  • Stretch at least once a day. Having good flexibility will help prevent injuries and increase your strength, speed and stamina.  
  • Have at least one complete day of rest per week. You need time to recover from your training.
  • If you are coming down with a cold or a flu, decrease your training time and work on getting better. You can’t train through sickness!
  • Food - Eat the same food during training as you plan to during the event
  • Drinks – You need at least 1.5 liters of water per hour while competing and training. Energy and sports drinks such as High 5, are good to have during and after events.

    Ten Tips for Optimum Athletic Recovery

       1. Drink water, all you care for, before during and after engaging in

       strenuous activity


       2. Eat fruit upon completion of activity to bring blood sugar back

      to normal levels and provide sugar for conversion to muscle glycogen.


       3. Consume celery and/or tomatoes to provide necessary

       sodium at least several times per week or as often as you participate

       in strenuous activity.


       4. When possible, rest after meals to foster optimum digestion.


       5. Remember, exercise does not provide energy, it requires energy.

        Sleep as much as you desire.


       6. During long duration activities, drink sports drinks of fruit blended

       with water. This works very well. For "ultra" events, add celery to the mixture.


       7. Monitor your water losses by using a scale to measure your weight before

        and after workouts.


       8. Raw foods provide the maximum nutrients for the minimal calories 


        encouraging the most rapid recovery. Gradually raise the raw percentage

        of your diet until you approach or reach 100%.


       9. Develop the habit of going to bed earlier to obtain a good night's sleep.


      10. Keep meals simple for optimum digestion, and varied to insure optimum nutrition.
